Molly....I was gripped the whole through this! What wonderful writing from you! I was almost biting my nails...hoping she (you) would be okay. I loved the way you wrote it as a diary entry too....very clever indeed! You read with such a clear voice, using great expression keeping me engaged. Super story telling. Just remember to take note of the punctuation when reading.
I think my favourite line has to be ' like a golfer rushing through the soil'....what a good picture to create in your reader's head.. Well done and keep it up Molly.
