Surviving a plane crash using SCIENCE!
We've done some great science investigations this half term - today we imagined we'd been in a plane crash on a desert island - to survive we had to figure out how to separate various materials: getting salt out of water, sand out of rice, metal from the wreck out of flour and sand out of our drinking water. we also did an experiment to see the difference in sugar between normal & diet cola - a huge SEVEN teaspoons!
Ash Class Car Company - Car Design!
We've been working hard on our car designs & began construction this week - most of us have completed our chassis and attached the wheels, axles and motors and had a test run! We'll be doing the control units and bodywork after half term!

Ash Class Go Explore!
We spent the afternoon in the Forest Friends area on the field, learning about team work and outdoor survival! First we played a team memory game, where we had to hunt for different symbols that had been hidden around the area. Then we were set a challenge to build a survival shelter! Considering how wet it has been recently, the children did brilliantly!
