Abi's 100wc - week 25...

In the year 2000 Ally was wandering about her room, staring at her disgusting candy pink wall when she heard drums. “It sounds like it’s under the floorboards!” she told herself. ‘It’s like the film ‘Jumanji’.she thought. “Mum can I borrow the shovel. Please!” she called down the long windy stairs.
“Yes darling. It’s in that horrible wooden shed at the end of the garden” her Mum answered back in her sweet, soft voice. So Ally ran down to the old wooden shed at the bottom of her woodland garden. She grabbed the shovel and ran back to her ugly pink room. As soon as she had got through her bedroom door and had slammed it shut she started digging up the floorboards. In a matter of minutes she found a beautifully patterned, wooden box. Without even thinking she opened the beautiful box and was sucked in. She has never been seen again.

What a brilliant 100 word challenge! I really like how you concentrated on describing how her mother spoke, and the box as 'patterned' it helps me to imagine what is happening in your story.

    Well done!

This was a very imaginative 100 word challenge, Abi! You used many great verbs, such as "slammed" and "wandering" which really made Ally's actions come to life. Great work!

  3. You've told this story so skilfully with plenty of description to bring it alive for the reader and an unexpected end. I wonder what lurked in that box....
