Molly's fabulous Ancient Egypt story!

Molly W's been working away again at home, this time writing a wonderful story set in Ancient Egypt!

It’s...ALIVE!
As I tried to find my way through the amazing pyramid of Giza. My cut hands felt a mysterious figure, it felt like bandages…
“Oh no..’’ I quivered…
I knew what is was…
“ITS A MUMMY!, ITS-ITS TUTANKHAMEN!!, HE'S ALIVE!’’ I screeched.
More layers of bruises appeared as I banged into everything in my way. A staggering ton of pain swept across my useless body, when I suddenly felt a familiar texture start tingling my shoulders. It was Tut.
“AARRGGHH!!’’ I bellowed once more.
Finally I felt what I had been looking for..

The one and only, priceless scarab beetle.. then a couple of metres away a gaze of light was shimmering through the darkened pyramid, then I heard a weird crashing noise …

The dumb mummy had collapsed into a wonderful heap of  valuables. Suddenly a familiar sound sprang then quickly grabbed a heap of gold and shoved it into my sandy pocket as the rays of the boiling sun beamed on my face.

As this endless journey had actually ended, a mummy's head popped out of the pyramid as my squinting eyes looked back… This journey was only one of the more spectacular adventures that were going to come upon me…….
THE END!

Abi's 100wc - week 5:

I was walking to the shops one day when suddenly I saw a funny, orange tortoise on the edge of the pavement. "Oh my goodness! That tortoise just waved at me," I shouted out loud so the whole street could hear me (it was a very long street).

"Hey little boy, what's the matter?" called a little old lady who was hobbling down the street, "You nearly knocked me over!"

"I know, but that tortoise just waved at me!"

"What tortoise? I don't see no tortoise!" she growled. When I looked around, the funny orange tortoise wasn't there...

Sienna's 100wc - week 5:

FLASHBACK
I was walking down the pavement, the clouds were an angry grey. No-one was out. After a while it began to thunder, the rain crashed down on my back while the storm clouds released a noisy boom. Suddenly the world seemed to turn orange. I think I fainted. I don't know how long I'd been there; but suddenly a funny tortoise was found on my back. It stuck its hand up. Petrified and panic-stricken, stunning yet almighty, it looked like it waved. Then a tall woman came over: "How are you?" she bellowed. I stopped and stared...
"You're a murderer!" I gasped.

By Sienna.

Nathan D's 100wc - week 5:

One afternoon I was walking through the park and I saw my uncle. I waved to him and he waved back. Then I saw a funny, cute little tortoise on the orange pavement. I went up close to the tortoise - I stroked it and it wasn't bad. His shell was as green as a leaf. After that I started to walk home. I looked back and the tortoise was behind me, so I picked it up and went back home - the tortoise was now my pet. "Yaaaay I'm so happy!"

Lily B's 100wc - week 5

NEWSFLASH!!!

"Hello, this is CBBC news reporting on an orange tortoise running loose around the country! Across the pavement, this funny tortoise, who's collar exclaimed his name was Kevin, waved at everyone he went past! If you see this tortoise, please call 09585 218103 as soon as you can! That is the number of the animal rescue team."

"CUT!" shouted the director of the TV studio, waving his hand in the air. "It's the orange tortoise, with a knife!"

The tortoise came running into the room, and out of the shell came a spray-painted baby playing with a knife; that was the end of us. Bye bye, life...

By Lily B.

Ellie B's 100wc - week 5:

Ella looked up at the teacher in a daydream, but the sound of Miss Kidder's loud voice snapped her out of her daydream at once.

"We are going to read a story called Enid and the Giant Tortoise, oh um I mean Turtle!" blubbered the teacher, "And this is how it goes..."

One blustery, windy morning Enid rolled out of bed. "Mum, is it to windy to go to the beach? Please, I won't be long." she moaned.

"It isn't even windy any more, so I suppose you can."

So she left with my breakfast uneaten and walked onto the beach. A horrible sight met her eyes - a turtle was washed up on the beach his beady eyes met her gaze. I must rescue him, she whispered to herself. And that is what she did it took a long time, but when she did the turtle thanked her and waved before he disappeared into the orange horizon. The end.

Wow, that funny story was amazing, I thought to myself as I wandered down the pavement.

Adom's Candy Crush story!

Candy crush adventures
As I play my favourite  game candy crush, I hear a “SAP SAP” and then mum called me. I went to her (silence) “What happend to your legs honey?”
“what did you sa ahhhhhhhhhhhh” my,my legs they’ve gone. The next day I said to my mum “my invisible legs hurt”
“okay I will give you some pain relief, just take it easy”.I sat down and played candy crush again and I saw something it looked like my legs I froze in shock to make things worse my mum came with the tablets to see I wasn’t there. The world I was in it looked like candy crush and then I realized I was in the game, I explored and surprisingly there was a whole population of people.Everyone was welcoming me it seemed like they had known me forever, but there was three kids how I guess were my friends now so I asked them how to get back to the normal world. they said”what normal world...ow have you been basically sucked up by your phone”?
“Yep”
“well we know how to stop it,you have to go to the mega candy it is the biggest of them all it throws humans down and keeps them here, the only way to get back is to destroy it”.So they went to it and it was bigger than I expected nobody knew how to do destroy it.but then I knew how to do it,eat it I told the others and we were away...by the time we eat it all it had been a week. But at least we got back and that was the end of that.

Katlyn & Georgina's 'Coral Ocean' story!

Lawin Singleton sat on the bench in the museum. Everyone was chitter chattering and having some serious gossip.

Lawin pretended to be interested by a Egyptian Pharaoh model. He started to cry...he eventually stopped.

Know-it-all came swaying over smothered in makeup. "Sweetie pie, what's the matter, have you ever lived your life?"

"Yeah I live in heaven, Missy," turning away from her.

The Ape Man - by Adom

On the coldest winter for a lot of years a young boy had a dream to run away from his horrible home and parents, but his parents say that he can’t  still he knew that he could he do it how he wondered. He tried to find someone to help him escape from his house and his parents,he asked everybody in school so he had to do it tomorrow. He did and there was a new kid how escaped from kid’s jail he told the boy that there is probably an underground tunnel under his house. When his parents were away he found the biggest, thickest, longest knife he could find.So he stabbed a hole in the floor ,but didn’t get a proper hole he tried lots of times and he finally got a good hole and got through and kept digging… until he got to a beach. It was so sandy that he  almost sunk, but he got a grip and pulled himself up there was lots of people around despite the sinking he found a boat and paddled away from the beach. He was there for a long time he got so hungry he drank the sea water but he finally got to an island it was small but it was fit for someone to live on.The wired thing about this island was that it had lots of apes on the island he found a man but it wasn’t a normal man it was an ape man ,the other apes seemed to be worshiping him .The ape man looked confused as to why he was here but then he remembered he said to the boy,”I am the king of this island you have to obey me” “okay”. “Where have you come from stranger” “let me say somewhere far away” “tell me why have you come here” “okay I will tell you,my parents are so horrible so I tried to escape and I ended up here”. “Same here”,”can I rule with you”yes of course seen as you’ve had the same thing happening” so they had a happy life together.

Sienna's Candy World story!

I couldn't believe it, I just stared and stared. The world had turned to candy. All the rivers, wide open seas were a rich chocolate milkshake flowing or bubbling gently in itself, all the little streams were thick custard cascading into the rivers. The trunks of trees were all different kinds of liquorice twisted together, from sugary, sweet red liquorice to dark coke like black liquorice, the tree leaves were fresh green mints.Rocks had turned into fruit pastels of all fruity flavours, sizes and colour!.The paths ways became hard, crackling peppermint swirling with their usual red and white swirls. But most of all the people they had became sugary yet sour, heavenly and delicious, jelly babies!.Finally the buildings were made of warm, soft gingerbread, with candy cane doors with brass chocolate knobs, also they had the roof was made entirely of thin, squashy strawberry laces.

Charlotte's mysterious writing...

Charlotte's been having a go at doing some writing based on our 'Coral Ocean' structure - here it is!

Boat Bateman sat in his fishing boat upon the horizon. No-one was in sight. All that was around was him and his fishing boat. Boat could not bear this at all. He turned and saw a single shimmer of light, what it was he didn't know, until out of it came a fish. What a mystery...

Georgina's description of the weir!

Georgina has been thinking of ways to describe the weir on the River Severn at Castlefields:

Fierce, almighty waters crashing down into the quiet, peaceful river. The strong current pulling down whatever trespasses in it. Unknown dangers drifting in the sparkling river.

Georgina's Ancient Egypt research!

ANCIENT EGYPT:
People in ancient Egypt went to temples to pray to gods. The ancient Egyptians worshiped over 2000 gods and goddesses. They built sun-dried mud bricks for houses out of mud and straw. Their homes were huge, homes had flat roofs , people often sat outside on their roofs in the evenings to watch the sunset and catch the evening breeze. Important jobs in ancient Egypt were soldiers, scribes, artists and peasants.

Molly W's spooky story...

Molly's been busy on her apps account again, writing this scary story!
As I looked around the deep dark forest mysterious mist was swirling all around the magnificently enormous trees, as I woke my friends up to look at the glistening stars, our eyes were filled with wonder as the bright stars shined up above us. A minute or two passed as a beautiful, amazing sight of a shooting star was soaring through the majestic night sky. As we could not sleep we still watched the glittering stars and looked out for any more wonderful shooting stars suddenly we all paused there was something behind to dark bugh a rustling sound was echoing across the woods….. we stood still like a block of ice.. SUDDENLY a parcel was flung at me as I look a step forward then a black fiendish figure slipped away into the dark, spooky nights air…

On the front of the parcel it said my name in terrifying handwriting as my mum in a different tent only a few meters away we did not scream. As I started to open the package we numb fingers were trembling and a horrid creature sprang out at me it bit my cold, shaking leg and a couple of dark figures sprang towards us I grabbed one of our tennis rackets and slowly crept towards them a little closer and…. thrash their strong bodies and then the rest of the girls behind me said 1..2..3.. CHARGE as quiet as they could and then the figures  look there hoodies of….. and then we realised it was a couple of people from our school!! as my thumping heart eased I sat down and took deep breaths and started to laugh, and so did everybody else then we all heard a blood curdling laugh and screamed as loud as we could…

The Blue World, by Adom...

Well done to Adom for writing this story in his own time and then managing to share it with me using his Greenfields Apps account! :-)

The blue world

Once I was walking in town when I saw a blue cafe, I went inside and saw blue people and blue tables and even blue food, I wondered why I've never seen this place before.I went behind only to see the blue world There were blue animals blue everything, but the moment I put my foot on the blue path I was pushed onto it.Then I realized,me,Austin and Thomas made a portal seen that we are genius and all so you can go to any world you want. This is terrible I can’t get out but I thought I can get used to this maybe I can make a friend here. I'm shy so it won’t be easy, but before I knew it I made friends with someone called Nicky we played on his blue and bouncy trampoline ,yet still I miss my friends and I want to get back and bring Nicky too.I asked Nick if he could help and he said yes,we tried to make another portal we got it and tried to make it go to my world. We couldn't do it today,so we went to sleep. So today we saw the portal and it said,’’one more try’’I was determined to get back,so we tried and it worked I asked Nicky’s mum if he could stay with me in a different world, she said,’’only to visit’’ and we ended up friends.

Lily B's 100wc - week 2:

I was enjoying my holiday so far. my best friend Kylie and I were on the cruise with tourists from everywhere over the world. We were dancing with some Mexican people going to Canada. My favourite thing about this cruise was that we were getting off at sunny Spain for another holiday!

There was a little French boy fishing into the sea, when suddenly he fell backwards. A red light shimmered across his body, its razor fangs were clutching onto the boy's body and started attacking all of us. My holiday ended up in A&E - not at all like sunny Spain, not one bit.

By Lily B.

Cerys' 100wc - week 2:

It was a beautiful, sunny, bright day for a little boy to go fishing. He was always obsessed with fish, until a fateful day ahead of him. "Oh come on, there must be a fish now!" he said half an hour later. He ranted in anger until eventually he finally caught one! He yanked the fishing rod and heaved. Suddenly, a horrible sea creature lay in his bere hands, the creature had sharp, dangling, decayed teeth, its skin was as wet, horrid and slimy as a ginormous snake and his eyes were terrifying, and deadly. Five minutes later it dies in his hands... and never ever again did this boy go fishing.

Nikola's 100wc - week 2:

Dear diary I went fishing with my bold overjoyed busy dad. It was a beautiful quiet day but then suddenly my dad got a fish, I yelled "hooray Dad hooray" but my dad didn't answer! I walked closer and closer until I saw my dad lying on the ground blood was all over him then I seen the ugly, angry fish I got a sharp stick and whispered "your dead!"

Adom's 100wc - week 2:

I was out fishing with my dad in the middle of the big, blue ocean, fishing for some weird and wonderful things. Well we got what we wanted: it was a dark pink thing - across with a fish and a worm. It had teeth like needles and sticky-out eyes. We had nothing to eat, so it was dinner for us. To be honest it was so good - it tasted just like chicken and sausage, but my dad didn't like it - no surprise he has the worst taste ever. The next day me and dad went back on land, we'd had the best day ever.

By Adom.

Charlotte's 100wc - week 2:

Hello there, my name is Sam. Today I believe that I am here to tell you a story. Ah yes, well it all started on 14th March. That very day I was going fishing my sister, my aunt and cousin. Once we got everything set up, we started fishing. I of course was by far the best because I had already caught four fish. But that moment, the first thing that came across my mind was the moving of my rod. I pulled it in but then suddenly my sister Lydia came up to me, pointed at the fish and shouted It's a Monk fish!

Molly W's 100wc - week 2:

As I opened the door to my house, number two on Spring Water Lane, my family were all crowded round the TV...

"Sshh!" said my mum as I sat down on the sofa. They were watching the news, there was a picture of a deadly fish with razor-sharp teeth and a terrifying stare. I didn't see what the big deal was: 'a fish'.

"Mum I'm going to the lake!" I said quickly.

"SSHH!" they all shouted.

As I sat down by the water, a red glow came towards me: I picked it up nervously. Suddenly I felt razor-sharp teeth sink into my hand...

By Molly W.

Sienna's 100wc - week 2:

I was fishing in my boat, when I heard a snap. I looked down nothing was there. Two hours later... I saw it! It was a cross between a sinister dragon, a pink prawn and a giant worm, yet I was not afraid of it. Yuck! What is that unpleasant smell? Oh, it was the vile, repulsive prawn, it was moving swiftly and rapidly throughout the water, I could see him in the water, yuck! All you were able to ssmell was sweaty cheese with soaked sock. Suddenly I realised I wasn't calm... I was fuming! I tried to catch him but he bit my sloppy hand, tearing up my flesh in the water...

By Sienna.

Lily A's 100wc - week 2:

"Miss Honey, heres my money for the fishing trip" bellowed Oscar, excitedly (He loved fishing!). All morning the room was filled with a loud echo going "can we go now?", oh wait it wasn't an echo it was OSCAR! An hour later we were all on the coach and leaving.

When we arrived we all sat down and casted our lines. Five minutes later Oscar felt a fine tug on his rod so he pulled it in and suddenly... "Ouch!"

Sharp teeth were clenched on two his hands. It was a revolting, red fish with shiny, pink scales, I ran to help and pushed the unsighly fish back in the water and took Oscar with a throbbing, slimy, bleeding hand to the doctor. A couple of days later Oscar was back to normal but always had a weird scar that, if you looked close enough, you would see the word DEATH!

By Lily A.

Ellie B's 100wc - week 2:

Its bulging eyes stared at me menacingly as it flicked its ruby-like tail accusingly. His face was a very unpleasant sight, his thin lips where stretched into a hideous grin. Spit was oozing from its razor-sharp gnashers and as a result his chin was a gross stickiness and its spikes dug into my skin. It didn't have a tail, I was beginning to wonder if I had come across some amazing sea monster.

Suddenly it started to wriggle, as quick as a flash he dived into the water, never to be seen again...

Marmalade Sandwich Algorithms!

Today in ICT we were learning what algorithms are: sets of rules which are followed to get an outcome. We learnt that these are what make most modern technology work, including video games. Soon we'll be programming our own games, but to start we tried writing an algorithm to make a marmalade sandwich - it was tougher than it looked, especially when it came to getting the robot to follow our instructions! we soon learnt we had to be VERY precise!

Luckily for Mr K (the robot!), we soon got better at it!

Here is a set of of debugged (fixed!) algorithms!

Our sentence of the day!

This morning we have been learning to write BOYS sentences (but, or, yet, so) and 2A sentences (where you put a pair of adjectives with the nouns) and our best one is... Lily B's!

She changed this sentence: The dog had teeth.

It to this brilliant 2A sentence!

The fierce, growling dog had sharp, rotten teeth.
